Cisco Call Manager (now part of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, or CUCM) we teach you how to manage, configure, and troubleshoot a Cisco IP telephony and collaboration system. It covers skills like phone and user management, call routing and control

Key skills and knowledge gained
  • Administrative tasks: You learn how to perform "moves, adds, and changes" for IP phones and users, including associating them with specific phones and configuring features like Do Not Disturb (DND) or shared lines.
  • Call routing and dial plan: You gain a deep understanding of how to configure route patterns, digit manipulation, and Class of Service (CoS) to control who can dial where and how calls are routed internally and externally to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).
  • Advanced features: You'll learn to configure and manage advanced features such as MeetMe conferencing, call queuing, call park/retrieve, and integration with other collaboration tools like Jabber and voicemail systems.
  • Device and user management: You will learn to configure and troubleshoot various Cisco devices, including IP phones and softphones, and manage users across different locations, including implementing features like Extension Mobility and device mobility.
  • System architecture: You gain knowledge of the system's core components, such as the publisher and subscriber server model for redundancy and load balancing, and how different servers communicate within a cluster.
  • Integration and security: You learn how to integrate CUCM with other services, such as LDAP directories for user authentication, and how to implement security measures like secure signaling and media encryption.
